Missions at Second

October is Missions Month

Together, we can change lives in Houston and around the world

Since 1927, the heartbeat of the Second Baptist Church family has been a relentless generosity for the sake of the Gospel. Join us in making a lasting impact through meaningful missions that bring hope, healing, and transformation to our local communities and around the world. Our approach to missions is threefold:

Local Missions

The Greater Houston Area is home to more than 40,000 nonprofit organizations—all doing important work in our city. But among them, Second is honored to partner with 36 local ministry partners who are set apart by something greater: they are proven co-laborers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Global Missions

From the bustling streets of Central and South America to the ancient city of Istanbul and the rugged landscapes of Iran, Second is standing with missionaries who are taking the Gospel to some of the hardest and most unreached places on Earth.

Strategic Partnerships

Our strategic partnerships across the globe have the unique capacity to carry out ministry on a massive scale—feeding hundreds of thousands of children each day, planting churches and bringing hope to communities devastated by disasters.

Matthew 28:19-20

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
